Hello!
We have a really busy weekend in prospect! And we have a huge announcement! No, not that there are some new publicity pics of me to gawp at. Although there are and thanks to my colleagues at TalkTV for taking them. No… even BETTER than that! I am pleased to announce that after a huge amount of work from our marketing manager Kat, life member Adam Swan and our friends at Eco Tee we are able to launch our very own clothing range! More of that later…

Italy Uncorked
FOSLTC President Martin Tinsley offers you the chance to enjoy a special night out!
“On Friday 8 July I shall be introducing the first in what will hopefully become a series of exceptional evenings of wine tasting matched with mouth-watering regional dishes created by our chef, Paul Wharrier.
Italy remains one of the world’s most magical and mysterious wine-producing nations. It has more than 1,000 varieties of grape, huge variations in soil and climate, and a wide variety of production techniques.
Whether you prefer Sangiovese to Nebiollo or Gavi to Pecorino, Steve Pryer, stalwart of the Circle of Wine Writers and former Evening Standard Food and Wine critic, will take you on a journey around Italy’s most interesting wine regions. His tour will cover a spectrum of wines; old, new, funky, obscure, and all delicious!
These may include reds from the west of Milan to the increasingly impressive whites made in wineries in Puglia, close to the scenery filmed at the start of the latest Bond movie. That is what these events will be about.
Tickets are priced at £65 per head and include six wines, canapés, a main course, and dessert.
As we have to set about raising funds for our roof, any surplus will go to the thatched roof fund.
Judging by the level of interest so far, we expect this event to sell out quickly so do book whilst you can here
Fizz gets underway at 6.45pm!”
We are really thankful to Martin and Steve for organising this event and to Chef for creating another inspiring menu! We hope you’ll book for this super event!

Grade 1 Tennis Tournament
28th May to 2nd June 2022
The Junior National Tour is a series of tournaments throughout the year that give the best young players in the country the chance to play and compete against each other.
The national tour will be a combination of Grade 1 and Grade 2 tournaments – the highest levels for players in Britain – with competitions for all age groups from 9U to 18U.
This year the LTA is revamping the National Tour for the 11 to 14 year olds, to improve the experience and quality of competition opportunities. This includes four flagship Grade 1 events on each of grass, clay, hard and indoor hard courts at 11U, 12U and 14U age categories.
We are delighted to share the news that the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club has been asked to host a Grade 1 12U & 11U Event. You’re welcome to come and watch the stars from the future play at our Club!
Jubilee
Forward planning for your diaries… we’ll be holding some events on Thursday 2nd June at the Club. More details next week. But also our Club will be participating in the Jubilee Street Party in Connaught Avenue on Friday 3rd June between 14.00 – 18.00. The whole street will be closed to traffic, with activities running the whole length of Connaught Avenue. The Club will be hosting a demo of junior tennis coaching at 14.00 followed by an open invitation for the public to play on two courts which will be marked out in the street. There will also be a Croquet challenge and possibly some Gym & Fitness activities! We really hope you’ll pop along not just to join in the Jubilee celebrations in the town and to support your Club but most importantly to support all our fantastic businesses along the street that look after us so well! Please come along and enjoy the Party!
I think that’s it for now. Please do get ordering from our online shop and don’t forget those towels and mugs will go fast tomorrow so please do come and buy them before they go!
Have a great week and we hope to see you at our Open Day!
