Hello! The sun is shining and as Spring turns into Summer we have an exciting range of events on at the Club. And some announcements too!

Poolside Kitchen

First… THIS WEEKEND (12 – 4pm) the Poolside Kitchen will be open for the first time this year. Well, the weather is nice, the grass courts are opening and Chef and his team could not wait for you to try the BRAND NEW menu! Why not pop down to have a sample of what’s on offer?

Open Day

On Saturday 21st May from 11am until 4pm we have the Club’s first Open Day for a few years. The pandemic meant we could not open our doors in the usual way and this year we hope the event will be attractive to you, as Members but also this is a fantastic opportunity to bring your friends, family and friends to come and see what’s on offer. We have a wide range of events and activities planned. PLEASE spread the word. Please do pop down and bring as many people as you can!

The Poolside Kitchen will be open so why not pop down for a tasty lunch or cheeky ice cream? They’ll be plenty to try off the new menu and some specials too. We hope you’ll pop down to see what Paul and his team cook up in the kitchen!

Sunday Lunch – THIS SUNDAY!

As you know our Sunday roast lunches have been hugely popular. We have some availability for THIS Sunday. If you want to book? Please do so online here we have a delicious menu and it’s one of the last indoor Sunday Lunches we’ll have before the summer season gets into action. We do have one more Roast Sunday Lunch for Father’s Day on Sunday 19th June and you can pre-book . We do get VERY booked up so please reserve your place NOW to avoid disappointment.

Tennis

Our grass courts will be opening THIS weekend! Steve and the team have put a huge amount of work into making sure our courts are at their best and ready for play. As you might imagine, it will be busy and we’d ask that you book in advance if you want to play on the grass. You can do so here . Bookings take precedence. If a net is down, please do not play on the court and if it has rained at all…Please don’t use the courts if they are wet – the towel test should work… kneel on a towel and if water soaks through? The court isn’t suitable for play. A huge thanks to Steve and our team for all the work to get our wonderful courts back open again.

Towels

Our amazing FOS|LTC beach towels are BACK! We will be selling them next weekend at the Open Day at the Club. In addition we have also had some sports towels made too. They are strictly limited in supply so when they are gone.. they are gone! To purchase them, you’ll need to come down to the Club next Saturday. AND we will have special offers on pricing for one day only!

FOS|LTC clothing range

I am pleased to announce that we have a range of specialist sports clothing that we will be launching next weekend too. Members will receive 10% discount on all purchases. And next weekend, at the open Day, we’ll give you an extra 10% off to mark the launch of the range. We’re super proud of the clothing that we have on offer. The design and quality should speak for itself and you’ll be able to see samples for yourselves next weekend. We’ll also have an online shop opening too – full details next week!

Mugs

We will also have some Club mugs available to purchase too. Perfect for your home, beach hut or a small gift to family and friends! They’re very colourful and hopefully you’ll want to own a few. When they’ve gone, they’ve gone!

Gym

Have you wondered about attending a gym class? Well, maybe you should. You might even enjoy yourself! Every day there are at least two classes to choose from. There’s something for everyone and AAA’s and Gym-U’s can book any classes for FREE! Why not not give a lift to your overall fitness for your mind and muscles with ‘Spin Boost’ with ‘Bert’ (Roberta) our spin instructor. It’s fun, with music and lights and the class and your exercise is done in 45 minutes! There’s no undue stress on joints, you set your own pace and can gradually increase your effort as you like each week as you get fitter. Give it a try or check with Gym manager Katy.

Squash

Squash Stars is our new, unmissable junior programme for kids aged 5-11 starting on June 6th. This six-week programme builds fundamental skills and confidence, encouraging juniors to reach for the stars on and off court! Grade 1 Tennis Tournament

28th May to 2nd June 2022

The Junior National Tour is a series of tournaments throughout the year that give the best young players in the country the chance to play and compete against each other.

The national tour will be a combination of Grade 1 and Grade 2 tournaments – the highest levels for players in Britain – with competitions for all age groups from 9U to 18U.

This year the LTA is revamping the National Tour for the 11 to 14 year olds, to improve the experience and quality of competition opportunities. This includes four flagship Grade 1 events on each of grass, clay, hard and indoor hard courts at 11U, 12U and 14U age categories.

We are delighted to share the news that the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club has been asked to host a Grade 1 12U & 11U Event. You’re welcome to come and watch the stars from the future play at our Club!

Swimming Pool

We have cleared out the leaves and the junk. Sparkled up the water and cranked up the heating. We are aware of the rise in energy prices but we hope the pool will be a resource you’ll use and enjoy. The swimming pool will open for junior swimming with a lifeguard from 28th May (booking required here) – adult swimming without a lifeguard from next week. We will announce the date ASAP when we receive the all clear! The pool will be open until September but please note we close it on Mondays for cleaning.

Poolside Kitchen

The Poolside Kitchen will be open throughout the tournament and then regularly throughout the summer – we’ll make sure you have all the details but if you are ever in doubt, you can click here on the website to find our opening hours. And do please feel free to call ahead to make sure we are open! Usual opening hours during the tournament will be 11am until 6pm.

Tournament

During the tournament there will be restricted access to the grass courts. If you want to play, please book online or speak to the office and we’ll try to make sure you can get on court!

Rackelon Result!

We had a great day at club today for the Racketlon tournament in which 16 players battled it our on court in three different sports. The completion was won by Richard Williams and runner up Pete Cleverly. Thanks to all our competitors, the organisers and we hope to have another one of these super events soon!

Karaoke

It’s back! I am reliably informed that on Friday evening on the 20th May, the karaoke machine will be back in the bar and you can join in too!

I am sure I have forgotten something but this is a very busy time of year for the Club. We really hope you’ll come and visit. This is our chance to encourage others to join us, to show Frinton what we do and the amazing resource we have on our doorstep. PLEASE spread the word!
