Walking football
Walton Swifts are the resident Walking Football club at FOSLTC, the Swifts were created back in 2014 with the aim to provide local men over the age of 50 and women over 45 with a means of getting regular, fun, healthy exercise along with the opportunity to socialise as a group.
From small beginnings, the club has flourished and has a current active membership of around 45 players between the ages of 45 and 86. The success of the club meant moving from its home in Walton on the Naze to much better facilities on hard tennis courts here at Frinton on Sea Lawn Tennis Club.
In 2024 we also introduced walking football on a grass pitch at the home of the Frinton Cricket Club, friends of FOSLTC.
The club plays Walking Football twice each week for an hour on Monday afternoons on grass at 1.45pm at the Frinton Cricket Club and on Wednesday evenings at 6.45pm on the hard courts at the Frinton on Sea Lawn Tennis Club with between 16 and 24 attendees each time. The Swifts also regularly visit other Walking Football clubs for friendly or tournament play for the occasional something that bit more competitive.
New players are always very welcome. Simply come along to any Walking Football session and try us on for size, free of charge while you decide if it’s for you.
