Pool
Not the swimming kind, it’s a bit chilly for that. But you know how we keep going on about having more than one thing to do at the Club? Well, we now have a pool table for you! A Massive thank you to Elliot Ball for his recent donation of the table to FOS|LTC! We may well put a cheeky coin mechanism in. But for now, it’s free to play. You’re welcome!
Some simple rules please…
POOL TABLE RULES
NO UNDER 7’S to play
UNDER 12S MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT
PLEASE DO NOT REST DRINKS ON THE SIDE OF THE TABLE. AND PLEASE DO NOT USE THE POOL TABLE FOR ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN PLAYING POOL! (IE it’s not a coat stand, bag rest, table, place to put your crisps. And if you have children at the Club, please ensure they don’t muck about unattended etc etc)

Our Club is beginning to look rather Christmassy! Our outdoor tree is up and the Clubhouse is beginning to look rather festive too. Needless to say, our coaching staff are top notch and they can certainly teach you a thing or two. Whether it’s to up your game, improve specific shots or bring confidence to you and your match-play. Whatever it is you’re looking to achieve, it’ll be great fun too.

Junior Coaching HERE
Don’t forget about our social tennis sessions on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Don’t worry about the weather, the bubble is booked throughout the winter, so come along and have some fun playing and meet other Club Members.
One of the difficulties we face is that as we grow our coaching and as Membership increases so there is a bigger stretch on our resources which are, as you may imagine, limited. One of the balancing acts we have to navigate is the bubble. We recognise that Members have regular times they wish to play however we also have our coaching plans to consider – we hope there is enough time for all – but it may mean a little flexibility here and there. Just so you know what’s agreed with our coaching team…
“the coaching provider will be entitled to book any court six weeks in advance with the exception of the bubble 18.00 to 22.00 Monday – Thursday and the bubble 19.30 to 22.00 Friday or on a different night as agreed”.
If you do want to play – please do book and pay for your courts. Sometimes, our coaches won’t actually need the courts they have booked and for last minute availability you can speak to the office and they’ll help.
Squash
And here’s an update from our squash players… Frinton Ladies Squash Friendly – Tuesday 22nd Nov 2022 Vs Lexden (away)
Frinton ladies’ squash team played an away friendly match vs Lexden recently and were worthy winners by a margin of fifty-nine points. The match was played in a round robin format – and each played one match against the others up to 15 points. The team were Gracie Trotman, Sophie Lane, Abbie Viera, Lesley Tanner Captain Sue Vine, and guest player Nicola Cunnew.
This match was the third game played against Lexden and these friendly games are an integral part of the FOS Squash women and girls development program. After the match, the inevitable cake and drinks provided by our welcoming hosts.
Coach Chris Vine was incredibly pleased with the way the ladies played and have improved since the last match earlier in the year.
New players are always welcome to join our regular training sessions on a Wednesday evening. If anyone is interested in giving squash a free of charge trial, please email our Squash organiser Vickie Prow.
We’re more than Tennis!
Of course there’s a lot more than just tennis going on at the Club. Do you need a good workout!? Check out our Squash courts, you could play racketball or why not use the gym and we have our fitness classes too! Katy and her team are on hand to get an induction organised so you can use the gym equipment or find out which classes are best for you. Or even put together a personal fitness plan, just for you. There is so much to do to keep you fit and healthy at the Club, especially during these cold winter months!
And please don’t forget that we also have walking football for the over 50’s and croquet is open to all age groups. More details on everything can be found online or via the office.
What a lot of things there are for you to get involved with. Something for everyone remains our mantra! Enjoy your Club and enjoy the footie too!
Have a great week.
