Hello!

The nights are becoming longer as Autumn sets in. However there’s a lot going on at the Club. I hope you all have our AGM to be held on Friday 20th October in your diaries, starting at 6pm. We’ll send you more details next week. Meantime, we hope that you’ll be tempted to come and visit socially, for some sporting activities, lunch or one of our events.

Wine Tour Around the World

Speaking of events. Yes, we’ve twisted his arm. We didn’t have to twist too hard to be honest… our very own wine expert Steve Pryer has agreed to host another spectacular wine tasting event. Please don’t miss this outstanding wine tasting and dinner on Friday 10th November, from 6.30pm.

Club regular and wine lover Steve Pryer will dip into the weird and wonderful, and take us on a fascinating wine tour around the world. Our resident chef Paul Wharrier will complement the wines with a delicious, modern British menu. Including venison, sea bass or vegetarian main courses. “It will all be a stunning evening,” says Steve, “without doubt our best one yet!” And who’s going to disbelieve those claims?

Highlights will include:

  • an extensive, after-dinner, wine-taster table
  • a superb selection of prizes in the evening’s raffle
  • a mystery wine for a blind tasting with a belting prize for the winner
  • a short quiz giving everlasting kudos to the winning table.

Should you need more information, please get in touch with Georgia.

Lights and Courts

With the nights drawing in and the weather becoming inclement, we hope to have the bubble up soon. The storms this week rather got in the way of our planned dates… Please don’t forget to book courts, pay for lighting, sign in guests and ensure non-members pay their fees! The non-bubble lighting costs have been simplified and are now payable on a half hour per court basis. The cost is £3 for 30 min.

Club Festivities

It’s nearly October and now it’s the time to get organised for the upcoming festive season!
As always, our Club has plenty to offer – Four Christmas Parties Nights to choose from, a traditional two-course Christmas Lunch, ever-popular Family Disco that is now bookable online, Christmas Carols with Caryll & Canapés! and of course our New Year’s Eve Party! Our NYE party will be very informal this year. It’s all about having a fun evening, celebrating and dancing (more details to follow within the next few weeks)
All festive information, menus and booking information can be found HERE.
