Hello!

The sun has been shining and hopefully a little taster of how fabulous our Club will be when better weather does arrive. Although let’s hope that we haven’t just had our summer! For the next few days, at least, good weather is with us before we are sharply reminded that we are only at the beginning of spring! Anyway, as we look ahead, a date for your diaries please. Saturday 21st May will be our first Club Open Day of the Summer (and for some years!). We will be pulling out all the stops to entice more new Members to come and join our Club. However we hope this will be a day for you too to enjoy the Club and see for yourselves what we can offer plus we’ll have food on offer too. We’ll have more details of all the plans we have and exciting offers that we’ll have on the day in due course.

Back to now. This weekend we are at full tilt. Sunday’s Mother’s Day Lunches and teas have sold out. Great news! Apologies if you didn’t make a booking this time around. That said, there are sometimes some last minute cancellations so do feel free to get in touch with Glenys via the office to see if there’s any last minute availability. We have opened bookings for Easter Day Sunday Lunch on Sunday 17th April and we are filling up fast. If you haven’t made your booking yet? Now is the time to do so! You can see the menu and book here.

Meanwhile, why not pop in for a drink over the weekend?

On Saturday 9th April we’ll be hosting another exciting event. It’s fizz night and we will be welcoming Busi Jacobsohn, the English Sparkling Wine producers, to the Club. The owners Susanna and Douglas will be taking us through their three amazing sparkling wines. Their Brut, Rosé and for the first time outside of the vineyard, their new Blanc de Noirs. It should be a really special evening. Chef has put together a paired menu and we’ll be pulling out all the stops! We’re getting booked up but if you want to book your spaces? Please do book now. We’d love you to experience their internationally renowned sparkling wines and to enjoy a super fun evening at the Club and there will be special offers on the night to buy fizz at the Bar or order discounted cases for your own consumption!

Easter
As I am sure you’re aware by now, the Club will be hosting Easter camps for both tennis and squash. If you want to book your juniors in? Do so now as we’re getting very busy! All the details are online.

Tennis
Don’t forget we have our Club sessions, if you’d like to play along. Or we have coaching from Pete and his team at NEET Academy – all the details of what’s going on can be found here.

Squash
Squash Court 1 will be out of action on Friday 1st April for repairs. Hopefully everything will be back in action from Saturday 2nd April! And do please check out what’s going on… we have club nights, events and other coaching courses for you. All the details are here.

Other News
The Board has met and we are making preparations for our Spring and Summer programme of events, sporting activities, tournaments and general plans. We hope to bring you details of some exciting changes in due course. But one thing I do want to highlight is our new clothing range. It’s in its final stages of design and we will be launching a whole range of FOS|LTC gear very soon! And we will have some new beach and sports towels being made in our wonderful livery colours too. More details on the launch and how you can get your hands on this top notch kit soon.

Karaoke
Yes, it’s back! On Friday 1st April, why not pop down to the Club for a few beverages and a singalong!

Auction
If, like me, you’re a bit of an auction buff, Tuesday 5th April could be fun as Bishop & Miller wil be holding a valuation event at the Club. Why not bring your items down and they’ll give them a once over and valuation taking consignments for their next auction!

Gym
There’s no excuse. Our gym has some of the best kit and trainers around. Whether it’s to tone up, lose some lb’s, get fit or simply to join in. There’s something for everyone. And that could be you too! Details are here.

Croquet
We are on the hunt for new Members. We not only is our lawn on grass court 16, available for play now but we are still aiming to launch our new purpose built croquet lawn this summer. The land has been levelled out and the grass is beginning to grow. We hope to have news on that very soon! If you are interested please do get in touch with Ann Evander or Richard Everett via the office and they’d be delighted to help you get involved!

Getting Involved
We are always on the lookout for those of you who’d be interested in getting involved in organising social events. Now Glenys has got settled into her job as Events Manager, we are able to put on events for Members and to continue the reinvigoration of our Club. Please do get in touch with Glenys or me if you’re interested or have any ideas you’d like to implement and organise! We are also on the lookout for helpers for our Open Day. Would you be up for it?

Clocks
The clocks go forward this Sunday morning. Please don’t get caught out by losing an hour! Especially if you have booked to join us for lunch

That’s it for now. Have a great week!
