British Tour – Tennis Tournament Monday 19th June – Friday 23rd June

The British Tour Level 2 Tournament is back at the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club. It runs from Monday 19th Jun until Friday 23rd June.

The British Tour is a tennis circuit for professional players wanting to compete on home soil, young stars with ambitions of going pro in the future, and national level players who still compete at a high level – in other words, the very best of British tennis! With approximately 30 British Tour events each year, players climb up and down the leader board depending on their results. Whoever sits top at the end of the year is crowned the British Tour Bonus Pool champion.

By all means pop down to spectate and as ever, during a tournament, there will be some disruption at the Club. Do book your courts online or make arrangements via the office.

ITF World Tennis Masters Tour | From Monday 3rd July

Are you a reasonably good tennis player and more than 30 years old? .. then this one is for you!

Once again, we will be hosting this great tournament starting starting on Monday 3rd July.

You can just spectate or be more adventurous. Enter! Many of you have done so in previous years. For more information or to enter please click HERE.

Flapjacks!

By popular demand, Nick’s vegan and organic flapjacks are back! A great snack before or after exercising! They are epic and delicious. Available at the bar.

Tennis Holiday Camps

The best way to keep your children active whilst having fun!

Try our tennis camp for 5-12yrs. It’s great for all abilities. Our sessions can be booked individually, so just choose day that works best for you. Our Juniors really enjoy the day and activities and are always happy to come back! You never know, you may have the next Andy Murray on your hands. Or you may simply be pleased to have the youngsters off your hands! For more information or to book HERE.

Quiz Night & Dinner  | Friday 14th July | Non-members welcome!

Calling all quiz lovers…. Come along for a fun evening at FOS|LTC.

Tickets are £15pp which includes entry to the quiz and: Lasagne with Salad or Vegetarian Lasagne with Salad. Book HERE.

Padel

Padel is an innovative form of tennis that’s fun, easy to learn and extremely sociable. Played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, groups of mixed ages and abilities can play together.

We have been given the opportunity to pay and play at the Game4Padel courts in Ipswich. This will be a great opportunity for you to try this fun game. Please get in touch Bill if you’d like to be included in our plans, mobile 07807 258246 or email billgreeno358@btinternet.com.

So far we have 4 players, would be great to get some more! It’s great fun, we promise!

Easy Fundraising

It’s a while since I mentioned Easy Fundraising. It’s a superb way to raise money for your Club without spending a penny. Insead of donating to charities and organisations elsewhere, easy fundraising is a simple concept. Set up an account and for pretty much every purchase you make online, the Club receives a percentage of the sale. There really is no catch other than you setting it up. Please do consider this as an option. We’ve already raised several thousand pounds from our Members who have made online purchases. Details on how it works and how to sign up are HERE

And please do remember set use the clickthrough for all your purchases. Thank you!

Lego and Sponsorship

As our Club is full of competitors – we thought you’d like to know that Gr8 Danes is running a LEGO build competition. A timed build – and prizes are on offer too! For more details click HERE.

And if you’re a member of the Club and work for or run a local business, do feel free to send me details of anything you think might be of interest to your fellow members. And why not consider promoting your business by sponsoring an aspect of the Club? As always there’s plenty that needs to be done and we’ll happily talk you through the help we need and the financial commitments we’re looking for!

Bingo

Last Friday saw a full house at the Club as Bingo made a return. With some actually quite reasonable prizes and cash on offer too it was a great evening with plenty of bingo, a few wings and some laughs too! We’ll be eyes down again later in the year and if you missed out this time we hope you’ll join us for more fun and fandangoes next time!

Music Nights

It’s a pleasure to welcome back the Frinton Summer Theatre to the Club. Two music nights. One on Sunday 16th July and the other on Sunday 13th August. And then of course there’s the run of plays – and this year’s programme looks to be fantastic. You can get all the details online HERE or why not pop into the shop on Connaught Avenue? www.frintonsummertheatre.org

With the good weather set to continue for a while with only the odd break, we really hope you’ll make full use of your Club. We have classes, private tuition, competitions and social activities and Club sporting slots and evening sessions too. Everything is on our website. Please do come and visit for more than one reason. And if it means popping into the bar for a tasty cheeky lager, glass of wine, Pimm’s or a glass of fizz. Whilst obviously drinking responsibly (yada yada) – please do. And don’t forget to try those flapjacks, or pop to the Poolside Kitchen for one of their epic chicken burgers (my favourite!) or a (dirty) Mr Whippy ice cream. And yes, please bring your friends and family too!

Have a great week.
