Hello. Happy Easter! We hope you’ll have a super bank holiday weekend. And why not pop down to the Club? We’ll be open should you fancy a game of tennis, squash, croquet or just a social drink at the bar! The office will be closed on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday, re-opening on Easter Monday from 09.00 until 12.00pm on Monday. Our bank holiday bar opening hours are;

Good Friday 09.00 – 00.00
Easter Saturday 09.00 – 21.00
Easter Sunday 09.00 – 18.00
Easter Monday 12.00 – 20.00

We’re not resting either too much over the Easter Weekend as we have a range of events and activities on the way. Easter Sunday Roast Lunch is unfortunately sold out now. Chef has put together a delicious menu and it should be very tasty.

And I know it may seem a bit behind the scenes to share this information with you, however, after continued investment by the Club in new kitchen equipment and the careful management of the kitchens by our caterer, we can announce that the Club has been awarded a Five Star hygiene rating. This is a considerable achievement. Led by our Chef, Paul, with Glenys, Liz and our treasurer, Clive. Indeed this from Chef ‘Without Clive’s fiscal management making the funds available I don’t think we would have achieved it.’ – thanks to all for making this happen. It’s another milestone by investing in your Club, it allows us to deliver higher quality events to you, our Members.

Bingo is back!
By popular demand, on Friday 22nd April, Bingo makes a return to the Club. ‘Unlucky for Some’ is priced at just £13 per person (see what we did there?) and includes all you need to play Bingo AND a tasty curry prepared by Chef and his team. It should be a great fun night and we hope as many of you as possible will book. Please do so online and we look forward to welcoming you from 6.30pm with eyes down from 7pm. And with some truly appalling prizes on offer… why not join in the fun? Book here.

Fizz!
As you’ll possibly know we were delighted to welcome Susanna & Douglas the owners of Busi Jacobsohn, the English Sparkling wine makers and vineyard that’s in East Sussex. We have a limited supply of their brut and rosé in stock. The usual RRP is £38 and £39 a bottle. We have a few bottles available. The Member’s price will be £35 snd £36 a bottle. That’s BELOW RRP! Why not treat yourselves? It’s seriously good fizz and at those prices? An epic opportunity to try it for yourselves. When it’s gone? It’s gone!

Just a date for your diaries… On Friday 8th July we will be hosting a fine wine and tasting dinner. We’ll have more details soon!

Sporting News
Squash
And why not to enrol for the Junior Squash Programme for the summer ’22 season… the first session is free for all new participants.

Racketball
It’s a great game that you can pick up as a hobby and play to improve your fitness. It is easy to learn and it is ideal for players of any age or gender.
And yes, Racketball is a great workout too! Racketball sessions are now available at FOS|LTC. Please check our website for more details.

Croquet
The new season’s club days and sessions are up and running. If you have never played this wonderful (and at times ruthless!) game… why not get involved? The new croquet lawn is continuing to improve and we hope we will be able to open it later this season. Grow grass… GROW!

Tennis
The weather forecast for this weekend is surprisingly good. I mean, let’s be honest, usually for a bank holiday weekend, you’d expect wind and rain. SUNSHINE is here! Please do book a court and get playing. And don’t forget that we have a range of Club tennis days, coaching for groups and one-on-one. Please email Peter Richmond for more information.

Gym
With classes available and your gym equipment all ready to be used… why not get down to the gym for a workout before tackling a few tasty lagers in the bar (please drink responsibility). Or by all means be a bit more healthy. Sparkling water is available too! Book here.

Soon, we’ll be working on clearing out the pool and getting it ready for the summer season. The grass courts require considerable manicuring before opening in a few weeks time and there’s a lot of hard work to be done to get our Club ready for spring and summer. We hope you’ll agree, there’s a wonderful and vibrant atmosphere and something for everyone! Our Space Invaders machine is back up and running and there’s always something going on should you simply pop in.

Meantime, it’s time to enjoy the break. Have a good weekend!

Club Chairman
