Hello!

As Easter approaches our Club is gearing up for the big spring and summer season. There’s a lot of hard work being done by Steve and Jake on our grounds. The courts will be given their special attention in the coming weeks from the specialists from Cromer. We’ll be clearing out the swimming pool and getting the Club ready to welcome all of you over our Spring and Summer season. And of course we’ll continue on our mission to increase Membership in line with our plans.

With that in mind it may be worth mentioning that we set a target for total membership and this month we have achieved that mini goal. We’re not there yet to become self sufficient but with increased activity, social events making a welcome return and with our sporting activities on the up? Our Club is beginning to fizz with activity.

This weekend that ‘fizz’ will be provided by Douglas & Susanna the owners of the Busi Jacobsohn, the English sparkling wine vineyard and estate. The event has sold out and we hope to add other invitations like this and guest speakers to our calendar.

Bookings for Sunday Lunch Roast on Sunday 17th April (Easter Sunday) have been made and we are full for the second sitting. However we have a few spaces available for the first sitting. Book now to avoid disappointment!

BINGO – Friday 22nd April
Please do make a note in your diaries. BINGO returns to the Club on Friday 22nd April. Arrival from 6.30pm and eyes down at 7pm (prompt!). ‘Unlucky for Some’ , perhaps describing the terrible prizes we hope to award to winners or it could be that we have priced the event at just £13 a head to include a curry supper and everything you need to play BINGO! I shall be calling (who knew my career could take such an upward trajectory?). Booking has gone LIVE on the website so please book here. And why not bring along some friends, family or neighbours? It should be a fun night.

Open Day – Saturday 21st May 2022
Our first Club Open Day of the year will be on Saturday 21st May from 11am until 4pm. If you think you can help or would like to be involved, please do speak to Glenys or Kim and they’d be delighted to enrole you to assist on the day. We’re looking for Members to help show prospective Members and visitors around our Club. We are also looking for volunteers to help distribute leaflets in the run-up to the day. If you can spare some of your precious time to help us out, dropping leaflets up your street or near where you live? that would be great. Again, please speak to Glenys to volunteer!

Sports

Tennis and Squash
Our tennis and squash camps for juniors are underway. For last minute availability – please click here.

During the holidays with a high demand for courts, please do book them in advance and if you’re playing tennis in the bubble or need lights… don’t forget to pay!

Club days, leagues and competitions continue! And if you’re looking for matches or details on competitions please speak to Bill Greeno with regard to tennis. And for tennis coaching Pete and his team from NEET Academy are more than happy to help with group or individual bookings. For squash, please speak to Vicky Prowe. You can contact directly or via the office.

Gym
Our membership continues to grow. Classes are busy but there is some availability so why not get involved? Katy and the team would be delighted to assist. Whether it’s getting you inducted so you can use our gym equipment or enrolled in a class, or perhaps you’re looking for some one-on-one training. Whatever you think you need , the team will be happy to assist.

Our congratulations to Gym Manager Katy who has embarked on a new training course to qualify as our own Pilates Instructor here at the Club. She’s already passed the first exam hurdle and in the meantime continues to look after our fitness and encourage us to work-out at her Class – programmes and in our superb Gym. We’ll have news in our course as soon as we can get pilates underway!

Croquet
We’re back for the summer! Whilst our fingers remain crossed that we will be able to use the new lawn, we’ll be keeping tennis grass court 16 in use for croquet. If you’re interested in a club session, want to find out about tuition or just want to get involved. This really is a sport for everyone. Speak to Richard Everett or Ann Evander for details.

We have a range of plans and social events we are working on at the moment. We’ll be making announcements soon about the launch of our new clothing range, the summer poolside menu and a range of events we are planning too. If you are interested in private dining for you or your sports team after. social match or game, we’d be happy to chat and make sure that Chef and his team can look after you. For full details, please speak to Glenys.

That’s it for now. Have a lovely weekend and if you’ve not got a visit to the Club on the horizon… why not come and see us?!

Have a great week.
