This week the weather has certainly kept us guessing, but at last, the long-awaited noise impact assessment is scheduled to go ahead today. After several delays, this assessment is a crucial step toward progressing our padel court application, so fingers crossed for calm skies.

Meanwhile, the first round of Internal Winter League matches has been granted a little breathing room with an extended deadline, so players, now’s the time to get those matches played!

This Sunday promises a double-header of competitive action: the Don Barton Cup match against Rayleigh kicks off the morning, followed by our Invitational Winter League clash with Lexden Hill in the afternoon. Best of luck to both teams.

There is plenty happening beyond the baseline too. From lively social evenings to important club roles, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. If you’ve got a head for numbers, take a look at the finance role we’re recruiting for. And if you’re organised, enthusiastic, and up for the challenge of coordinating our summer teams, we’re on the lookout for a Fixtures Secretary. Interested? Contact Tom at tennis@fosltc.com.
