Hello!

As the festive season approaches, it’s a time to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our Club remains busy and will hopefully form part of your plans for the festive season. Do pop in and see us, if only to see the amazing window designs hand drawn by Mel that are a sensational addition to our festive decorations!

For all Members, the elephant in the room is our general meeting to be held on Friday 12th January at 6.30pm. As a result of an event that’s taking place at the Club that evening, we’ll now be hosting the meeting at the McGrigor Hall, 85 Fourth Avenue. We will send out an update on proceedings and submissions as soon as we are able.

Meanwhile there’s plenty going on at the Club. Here’s this week’s news.

Christmas Raffle

Your generosity has been exceptional. Yes, we have sold plenty of tickets to raise funds for your Club. But we still have tickets available and we’ll be making the draw at Carols with Caryll. It’s £5 a strip. £25 for six strips. And don’t worry if you can’t join us on the night as we’ll make sure your prizes are kept for you. Top prize? It’s £100! With a range of other lovely items and drinks to win on the night. And there’s a year’s Social Membership up for grabs, eligible for anyone who’s not currently a Member. A lovely gift, I hope you’ll agree. You’ve got to be in it to win it, as they say! Tickets are available from the Bar.

Christmas Carols with Caryll & Canapés | Saturday 23rd Dec from 6pm

Are you a fan of festive Carols? Then don’t miss our Carol singing night followed by delicious canapés! This is a perfect way to sing in the festive season with your family and friends. It’s a free event, but please register your interest with georgia@fosltc.com so we know how many of you are coming. Everyone is welcome, of course!

We have some extra delicious mulled wine for only £2 per glass, we would suggest trying a glass or two before or after the event! Please drink responsibly (yada yada).

Squash Tournament | Friday | 29th Dec from 10am

Whether you’re a squash, tennis or croquet fan, you won’t want to miss our squash tournament on Friday the 29th December. Everyone is welcome and it’s going to be fun! Better than sitting at home, watching Die Hard for the umpteenth time, chomping through a tin of Quality Street or wondering if yet another hapless Eastenders character is going to fall down the stairs of the Queen Vic. To register your interest please get in touch with Chris Vine csvconsultancyltd@gmail.com or put your name down on our squash board. Non-Members are welcome too!

Thursday Night is Games Night

Nothing to do on a Thursday evening? We’re here to help. Thursday 11th January sees the launch of Games Night at the Club commencing at 7.00 pm. This will run every Thursday evening until the grass courts open. We already have table tennis and darts available in the ballroom and pool in the lobby but we now have a range of other games available in the bar. We have packs of cards, chess, draughts, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, cribbage, backgammon and Cluedo, but if we don’t have your favourite game, just bring it along for a fun evening with friends or family.

To launch Games Night there will be an exhibition table tennis match between two Clacton & District league players at 8 pm.

Every Thursday evening, there will be special offers on drinks from the Bar.

Frinton Jazz Club Returns!
