Hello!

What an amazing week it’s been. The Club has been buzzing with very talented young tennis players competing in our Open Junior Tournament, our heated pool has been busy with many happy juniors and families making a splash. The summer isn’t over yet. Please book your swimming slots HERE and enjoy the sunshine, forecast again for the weekend and into next week. Non-Members are always welcome, it’s £8pp per slot and it’s definitely worth it! What’s even more worth it is every category of Club Membership (including social and our excellent value junior Memberships) which include swimming in the pool and the superb discounts at the bar. Goodbye!

It’s sad news that Kat, our talented Marketing Manager, has decided after three and a half years with us to move on to pastures new. It’s worth reflecting on her many achievements since she joined. Designing and building the Club’s website and online activity. Boosting our social media presence with regular posts and engagement. Helping to launch our clothing range, online sales and indeed providing input on this very newsletter too. Amongst many other aspects of our Club’s activities, marketing and comms. She has been a tremendous asset and we thank her for her huge efforts and commitment and wish her well in her future career. It won’t be a complete goodbye as we’re sure Kat will be a regular visitor to the Club and she may well be assisting with some of our special projects too. From all of us, thank you and good luck!

It’s also sad news that we’ve had to say goodbye to Georgia our Events Manager. This has been a difficult decision for us to take. As a result of a reorganisation of the Club’s activities by the Board and in an effort to keep our costs under control we have decided not to replace the marketing function directly. Instead we have created a new role of Marketing & Sales to better reflect the Club’s needs to market the Club, our activities, the venue and to our Members and beyond. We hope that this changed role will service you more effectively. And that we’ll be able to build on the great work that’s been done. We want to thank Georgia for her hard work and commitment over the past year. And to wish her well in her future career.

Welcome Back!

I am delighted to announce that Rebecca Williamson will be returning to the Club in the new role as Marketing & Sales Manager. This is a new role that we hope will bring together everything we do online, with our communications and information but also involve selling our Club and its events more effectively. Rebecca will be starting her new role in early September. 

Colchester & District Championship Finals | Sat 31st August 2024

The highly anticipated C&D Finals 2024 are nearly here! It’s always an incredible day at the Club, and everyone is invited to join in the fun. We’ve seen many Club players make it to the finals in the past, and we’re confident that this year will be the same. So please come along to show your support – it’s going to be a great day.

Colchester & District League | Thank you!

Only a few matches left until the season ends. Many thanks to all our players, especially our team captains, and our match secretary, Diane. We know how much hard work goes into organising matches and ensuring players are in the right place at the right time. Sometimes it’s like nailing jelly to the wall! But you’ve done it. Thank you! 

We hope everyone had an enjoyable season and enjoyed our new club kit, which became the talk of the league as every other team tried to copy it. Thank you to David Binns, for organising the sponsorship and to our sponsors for their generous support. It’s made a real difference to our players, the teams and the Club. Well done everyone, thank you for representing our Club this year! We hope to widen the sponsorship opportunities for next year – so if you’re interested in supporting our Men’s or Ladies’ teams and your Club – David would love to hear from you! 

Croquet

Croquet is a wonderful game to enjoy or learn during the summer. It’s a great way to stay active, have fun, and make friends. We also offer coaching sessions, and it’s always entertaining. It’s only £15 per month to join the Club and with swimming is included and a range of Club benefits we hope this is a compelling offer. Gym

We all want to look and feel great. Unfortunately, getting trim takes some effort, but our gym is the perfect place to make it happen. Never too overcrowded, never having to wait… If you’ve not taken a look around, our gym is equipped with first class Technogym equipment. Katy@fostlc.com or kim@fosltc.com will be always happy to show you around! Personal training by Katy is available alongside her dedicated team of instructors for a range of superb exercise and yoga classes too. Once again, our gym membership categories include swimming and membership benefits.

Big Top Tent

As you’ll know the Frinton Summer Theatre has been holding an amazing season of repertory theatre. The finale to the season will, once again, be in a big top tent on the Greensward. It’s always an incredible show, put together with a high degree of professionalism and talent. This year’s production is Annie Get Your Gun! With some absolute show-stopping tunes such as ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business” you know it’s going to be an epic production! Indeed, you may have even heard some of the rehearsals which have been taking place at the Club. It’s going to be a superb night out and of course they need your support! Tickets available HERE.

Events

Don’t forget there are a wide range of events at our Club. From band nights to the Jazz Club, a return of Sunday Lunches at the end of September and our Thursday Night is Games Night too. All the details are online but please do take a look at what’s on and come on down!

Whilst we make our staffing changes there may be an interruption to our newsletters so please do ensure you keep your eyes on our website for upcoming events and as always you can always enquire in the office about what’s going on.
