The sunshine is back. Scorchio! And on Sunday 16th June – it’s Father’s Day. Which means a return of our delicious Sunday Roast Lunch. Whether you wish to celebrate the day with family or simply pop down to the Club for a tasty Sunday Roast lunch… bookings must be made by midnight on Friday 13th June. That’s TONIGHT! Our grass court tournament season continues. Details of the Lexus British Tour are set out below. It’s going to be a busy week!

Lexus British Tour | Monday 16th – Saturday 21st June
We’ll be hosting this tournament once again at our Club. With sunshine forecast, some superb players (including some of our own Members) due to join us, why not pop down to the Club to watch some amazing matches. The Bar will be open. As will the Poolside Kitchen.
If you want to play tennis, Section 4 is reserved for Members. But you must book your courts either online or via the office.
We’ll also have the HSBC Championships from Queen’s Tennis Club on the telly in the bar.
Poolside Kitchen
We’ll be open from 12pm until 6pm this weekend. And the Poolside Kitchen will be open from 12pm each day of the tournament. So whether it’s a smashed burger, our legendary chicken burger or healthy salad or cheeky toasted panini – it’s all at the Club!
Bar | News
As we head into the summer, we’ll be making a few changes to our wine menu. Our suppliers have been taken over and some of the wines they previously stocked will no longer be available. So we’ve had a look at the overall list and made some selections which will be added. We’re planning a tasting event too in the coming weeks so you’ll have a chance to try them out for yourselves! More details soon. Meanwhile in this lovely sunny weather we have our full selection of lagers, beers, spritzes and Pimm’s on tap too! And a wide range of non-alcoholic options available. Don’t forget to bring your Membership Card with you if you wish to receive your Member’s discount! And if you’re still thinking about joining the Club… please enquire at the office.

Junior Tennis Talent ID Day | Saturday 14th June
We’re pleased to share an exciting opportunity from Essex Tennis, supported by the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association). They are running FREE Talent ID Day sessions across the County during May, June and July, aimed at enthusiastic children born in 2019 or 2020. Our next event is THIS Saturday!
These are fun, friendly taster sessions designed to introduce children to tennis through games, movement, and play — no experience necessary and all equipment is provided.

- Held at multiple venues across Essex
- Free of charge
- No equipment or experience needed

Club Championships
The draws are up. We’re ready for this year’s Club Championships! Are you? Please do make sure you note the ‘play by’ dates, and if you need a hand contacting your opponent please enquire at the office. Please make a note in your diary for our Club Finals day which will be held on Saturday 6th September.
Frinton Triangle Tournament
Are you any good at golf or cricket? Or actually tennis! We need YOU! The Frinton Triangle Tournament returns for its third year. We just missed out on 1st place last year to the Cricket Club and we’re keen to win that trophy back! The tournament kicks off us at our Club on Sunday 22nd June with Tennis and Croquet. Spectators are welcome! The sign-up sheet is on the tennis board. We then head to the Cricket Club on Sunday 6th July and Golf Club Sunday 20th July. Please sign up for any of the events but remember, you can only represent one club!

Colchester & District | Update
A quieter week this week with no home games!
As we approach the half way point in the summer, our teams have played and performed really well. So far 5 of our teams are top of their leagues! However, it’s a long way to go until the end of the season but let’s hope the winning streak continues!
