Hello!
We’re certainly making good progress. And if you’ve been to the Club recently, you’ll see that Steve and Craig have been working hard on our grass courts. They already look amazing, and we hope to have them open for play at the beginning of May. It’s all weather dependant of course. And our pool is being cleaned and spruced up for the season too. There’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes to prepare events, competitions, social events and plenty more to keep you busy! Our plans to continue the upgrade of our facilities and Clubhouse continue apace. We’re acutely aware of the economic headwinds, awful April cost rises and pressures facing us all. It’s at times like this that we rely even more heavily on you, our Members and supporters to ensure our Club remains a vibrant and busy sporting and social venue. With that in mind, for Thursday Night is Games Night, on Thursday 17th April – pizza is back! Details below. We hope you’ll find reasons to visit and most importantly to spread the word!
Meanwhile, on to this week’s news;
Pickleball
Last Sunday saw another fun social pickleball tournament take place. Held to launch our new Sunday social sessions. Our winner was Mark Grover, Jon Oakes took second place and Adam Swan came third. Our thanks to Abi and Jon for organising and to Sarah for the magnificent post tournament cakes! For details on playing pickleball at the Club or for Membership please look online or enquire via the office.

This weekend it’ll be Men’s C and Men’s D that take each other on. Matches will be taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. Matches start from 11.30am both days (warmups from 11am).

Easter Holiday Junior Camps
Great fun has been had at both our Tennis and Squash junior camps this week. There’s still time to book onto next week’s activities HERE
Frinton Links Social Membership
The reciprocal Social Membership arrangements with Frinton Links Golf Club have been agreed and the scheme is now up and running. Those eligible should have received an email last Friday via ClubSpark. The eligible membership categories are Life Members, AAA, Tennis, Squash and Gym (young adult and extra distance apply). If you believe you are eligible and didn’t receive an email, please contact Kim kim@fosltc.com – And if you are, please do follow the instructions to get signed up!
Swimming Pool Summer Cover
This week our NEW thermal swimming pool cover was installed, ready for the summer season. A BIG thank you to SPL for sponsoring this cover and for their continued support at the Club. The cover will be in use during the summer months and should help keep our electricity bills down by maintaining a higher temperature of the pool overnight as well as reducing the cleaning required.

NEW Tennis social sessions
This week sees the start of our new tennis social Sessions. These have been introduced to help improve the social side of tennis, but also to help integrate players and new members into the Club. We have also launched them to provide more games of tennis at similar standards so that people can hopefully enjoy tennis further!
The new social schedule can be viewed on our website HERE
For the invite only sessions, players suitable for these groups will be sent a link for registration. These sessions are led by a lead co-ordinator who will also collect money from the session (if required) and arrange players through the app. The mixed tennis social sessions are the existing club sessions and these run as they did before. Our pickleball sessions run as usual through the Heja app.
If you are interested in playing in the invite only sessions, you can register your interest by emailing tennis@fosltc.com Likewise, if you don’t receive a link please contact us.
