Hello,
A collective thank-you to our amazing management, staff and coaches. Once again, they have worked tremendously hard to ensure that our Club continues to be a fantastic destination for sport, events, catering, our bar and social gatherings. We’re hugely appreciative of our dedicated team.
I’d also like to thank my fellow Board Directors, Committee chairs and members. They work tirelessly on our behalf, giving their time, energy and support and we’re very fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers. We also appreciate and are very grateful for the considerable financial support we have received this year from the Club’s sponsors and we look forward to developing our partnerships in the coming years.
As we reflect on 2024, it has been a challenging year for the Club and indeed all of us for a variety of reasons. We’re particularly sad to report that Roger Evans, Member and former Chair of the Club has passed away after a short illness. Roger has been an important part of our Club for many years and indeed a friend to many of us. We send our deep condolences to his family and friends at this very sad time.
When we have further details from his family with the funeral arrangements, we’ll let you know.
When faced with adversity, our Club and our Members rally together. This year you have really stepped up. Last week I mentioned the exceptionally generous donation and support from the Towler family. But I’d also like to make particular mention and thanks to Debbie and Colin Lawrence who, once again, have demonstrated their commitment to the Club with a very generous donation. To the Gluckstein and Pertwee families who continue to support us. And to my family for whom this Club has been a part of our lives for over 50 years for their generosity too. The Club also has a number of benefactors who prefer to remain anonymous. To all of you I wish to thank you on behalf of the Club, our Members and Board for your support and generosity. As a result of your generosity and the support of all our Members and visitors, 2025 is looking more positive and our outlook is bright! In the new year, I’ll set out our plans and projects for the year ahead.
