As you know, Ronnie has joined us as our chef whilst Paul takes time off on doctor’s orders. As he settles in please do say hi, get down to the Club and order some food! We’ll be tweaking the menu as we go along. All comments and suggestions are welcome. We’ll see what we can do! Meantime as we get up and running, please do bear with us on timings. Generally speaking we will try to keep the opening times up to date online, however we are a little reliant on the weather. If you are heading down to the Club, you can always call ahead to ensure we are open. And don’t forget you can put in any special requests or reservations in advance.
This week we’ve had The British Tour at the Club. Feel free to pop by to watch some tennis as we head towards the finals which will be held on Saturday. The British Tour 2021 provides a circuit of tournaments designed to give up and coming players the opportunity to gain experience in their quest to become professional tennis players, to provide competition for professional players in between competing in professional events at home and abroad, as well as providing a national level open competition circuit.
It has been a little tricky to get our Club Championships underway alongside the tournament and there has been some pressure on courts. We hope you haven’t been put out too much and please do continue to book ahead via the website.
As the pool is proving so popular, we have had to reduce the bookings to one time slot ONLY per day.
Please do make sure that you respect the bar hours and drinking up times. And also I would urge you that if you have driven to the Club and decided to have a few sherbets, just leave your car in the car park and pick it up the next day. There’s no excuse for mixing drinks and driving in this day and age.
It looks like summer may actually arrive from Tuesday next week… let’s hope eh?!
Football and Tennis on the telly
We’ll be hosting the next England v Germany match at the Club on the big screen at 5pm on Tuesday. So why not pop on down for a few drinks and football fun. We’ll also make sure that Wimbledon is on over the next fortnight too.
Meanwhile, let’s continue to get the message out about our amazing Club. You have done a wonderful job and so far. Since we re-opened after lockdown, we’ve welcomed nearly 200 new members. Welcome to all of you! Our squash courts, gym, classes, walking football, croquet and of course our tennis and coaching too are some of the best in the area! Let’s not forget our bar and poolside kitchen too. Our staff and team have been working really hard on your behalf. Their dedication to us as Members and to the Club is hugely appreciated. Let’s build on the work that’s been done to get us up, running and open again and please do enjoy our Club!
Have a great week!
