Hello!
It’s another busy week ahead as County Week concludes this Friday at the Club. Hopefully the good weather will return! If you like the look of our grass tennis courts or fancy some of the other activities on offer, we have a range of Membership options for short or long stays. You can see all the rates HERE or please do enquire at the office. Just to remind you if you have children or grandchildren… we have extended the age range for our Junior Membership to 18 and under. All the details are set out below. And don’t forget we have our Young Adult category too for the 19 – 29 year olds. Now summer is here, it’s a great time to join or upgrade your membership and get involved!
As the summer holidays get underway it’s important to ensure our Club is a safe and welcoming environment for all. And for all ages. Particularly to all parents of under 13’s please ensure you keep a watchful eye on your children at all times, keeping them in your sight. We’d also ask that parents do keep children playing sport or visiting the Club under their watchful supervision for the benefit of all Club members. Our Club should be a safe place for all and safeguarding protocols are in place. The details on are on the notice board. If you do wish to raise any concerns, in the first instance please speak to Kim, our Club manager. Clare Young continues her sterling work as the Club’s safeguarding officer. We respectfully ask that all Members are mindful of others when it comes to behaviour. Our Club should be a respectful place to be at all times. We’d also ask that players on court moderate your language as younger ears may be listening!
On to this week’s news.
Don’t Freak Out! | Sunday 28th July from 7.30pm
This Sunday sees the return of the Frinton Summer Theatre Music Night. From 7.30pm, Clive Brill and his Jazz Slayers will open the evening with a set, followed by ‘Don’t Freak Out’. A jazz, soul, pop ensemble with fabulous musicians and singers. You don’t want to miss it! For last minute availability please do click HERE to buy your tickets.
Fizz & Sparkles
In addition to the super Jarrow House, sparkling English wine (as made by our Club Member Sally Smith) that’s available at the bar, we continue to stock Busi Jacobson, an award winning English Fizz. And new for the summer, we’re now supplying Pol Roger. With the Member’s price of £56 a bottle, we hope you’ll agree this represents super value for a fizz of this quality. Wonderful for a celebration or special occasion. And a huge thanks to Pol Roger who have supplied the Club with a rather lovely set of umbrellas too.
County Week
It was great seeing so many of you at the Club enjoying some fantastic tennis this week. We’ve had teams visiting from Oxfordshire, Cornwall, the South of Scotland, Isle of Man, Cumbria, Bedfordshire, Sussex, and the Channel Islands. We hope that everyone had a wonderful time competing and catching up with their tennis buddies.
The next external competition we’ll be hosting at the Club is Frinton-On-Sea Lawn Tennis Club Open 2024 starting on Sunday 11th of August. Should you want to participate, the entries are still open (until 28th July) Please click HERE. There are Junior and Adult categories.
As always, if you want to guarantee that you’ll get to play during our tournaments, please do book your courts. And a reminder of the rules that if you’re playing on a court and a Member has booked it, please do allow them to play on the court they’ve booked. Whilst we always try to ensure courts booked have nets up, should the net be down for any reason, please play on the next door court. Any issues, please enquire at the office.
