We hope you all had a joyful and relaxing festive season. Welcome to our very first weekly update of the new year!
Although the calendar may have paused for a holiday breather, the Club certainly didn’t hit snooze. Over the break, we have seen a flurry of festive fun, spirited internal tennis leagues, and a fiercely contested squash handicap tournament; congratulations to Rob Rouse for emerging victorious!
Now that January has arrived (along with those extra mince pie calories!), there’s no better time to get moving. Whether you are looking to serve up some tennis with NEETacademy, smash it on the squash court, or sweat it out in one of our many gym classes, the Club has you covered.
This Saturday we are holding a gym open day and the launch of our inaugural Winter Invitation Tennis League, with FOSLTC hosting Spring Lane. Best of luck to Shiho, Anne, Elliot, and Marcus. We will be cheering you on! Weekly results will be posted on the website, so stay tuned.
And that’s not all, January is just getting started. Keep an eye out for more activities and events coming your way soon.
What’s happening at FOSLTC!
Squash Handicap Tournament – Recap
On Monday 29th December we held the xmas Handicap squash tournament, with an entry of 12 players across all ages and abilities. It was a great afternoon with some of our top Junior players taking on the adults giving them a run for their money. Every player had at least two matches during the afternoon. The final was played between the experienced Rob Rouse and Adam Hamer. Rob gave away a 16 point start to Adam, however he fought back and after some nervy moments, Rob came out victorious. Well done to all who entered, it was a great afternoon and a big thankyou to Jack Bruce for organising.
