As the mulled wine flows and the mince pies mysteriously vanish, we bring you the final tennis newsletter of the year, because let’s face it, no one will be reading anything on Boxing Day except the back of a Quality Street tin.

It has been a cracking December so far, with some truly memorable Christmas parties lighting up the Club. And if you think we’re done, think again, there are still more fantastic events to come before we serve up 2026.

This Saturday’s tennis tournament promises to keep spirits high and glasses full. Your entry fee includes a warming glass of mulled wine and don’t forget to bring your poker face, because who says festive cheer and fierce competition can’t go hand in hand? Enter before 4pm today HERE

For our younger players, the Junior Tennis Camp is being held on 23 December, offering a great way to burn off pre-Christmas energy and sharpen those skills. And for those who prefer their racquets with a wall involved, don’t miss the Squash Handicap Tournament on 29 December, a brilliant way to close out the year with a bang (and a boast).

Looking ahead, we are kicking off 2026 with a healthy start. Join us for the Gym Open Day on 3 January, with special offers to help you burn off those festive indulgences and get moving again. No judgment, just endorphins!

On court, the action hasn’t slowed either. The latest league results and tables are updated weekly on the website, so you can check where you stand (or slump) after the matches to date.

We are also on the lookout for a new Fixtures Secretary to join the tennis committee. If you’re organised, enthusiastic, and fancy a front-row seat to the club’s competitive calendar, drop Tom a line at Tennis@fosltc.com to find out more.

And if you’re still hunting for last-minute stocking fillers, don’t forget to check out our great new club merchandise, including a few limited edition bobble hats still up for grabs. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible staff for their hard work this year. From early mornings to late-night lock-ups, you’ve kept the club running smoothly and the spirit high.
