Hello!
Have you sensed a whiff of Autumn in the air? As the evenings shorten and August progresses, our summer season is moving at pace. The last of our external tournaments has taken place however, we still have a few events to look forward to including the Colchester & District finals on Saturday 30th August, along with our Croquet finals and our Club Championships on the 6th September. More of that later. As ever, there’s plenty going on at the Club to keep you, your family and friends entertained! Particularly as it’s the summer bank holiday on Monday. So the pool will be available for juniors in the afternoon and the Poolside Kitchen will be open too.
Meanwhile, The Frinton Summer Theatre moves to the big tent on the Greensward after an epic season at the McGrigor Hall. This year, the big show is Guys & Dolls and there are a range of one-off special events too including a Cabaret Night on Sunday 31st August. I hear Christopher Biggins will be in town as will Wayne Sleep OBE and it’s hosted by West End legend, Janie Dee! You can see all the details and book your tickets HERE
One last thing – and we’d love your help!
You might remember that we’ve been signed up to EasyFundraising for a while now. Thanks to your support, we’ve already raised thousands of pounds for the Club through this platform and the best part? It doesn’t cost you a penny.
Here’s how it works: when you shop online using the app or your account, instead of companies keeping their commission, they donate it to charities and community sports clubs like ours. Simple as that!
It only takes a moment to sign up, and every pound raised makes a real difference to your Club.
If you’re already part of the scheme, fantastic – just check that your account is active so your purchases count. After all, wouldn’t you rather this money came to us than lined the pockets of big corporations?
Details are waiting for you HERE – thank you for your support!
Right, let’s get to this week’s news!

Housekeeping | Health & Safety
All the Club’s health & safety protocols are on our noticeboards and via scannable links. Please report any welfare issues to the office should they arise and we will take appropriate action. I’d also highlight a message sent to all Members this week, that applies to all visitors to the Club too;
Please Note:
A special reminder to all parents: please keep a close eye on your children when visiting the Club or playing on the grounds. We love welcoming families and want everyone to enjoy their time here safely.
However, a few important points:
- Some of our trees are currently in a fragile state. Please ensure children do not climb the trees. We’re having them assessed and will be removing any rotten or unsafe branches over the winter.
- Play on the grounds is at your own risk, and the area behind the mound behind the pool is strictly out of bounds.
- Please ensure children do not throw stones onto the grass courts or use them for games. These courts are for tennis only.
- If playing tennis, please make sure appropriate footwear is worn on our courts.
Thank you for helping us keep the Club safe and enjoyable for everyone.
