Hello!

As we messaged earlier I the week, the Club will be closed this Monday 19th September, the date of H.M. Queen’s State Funeral as a mark of respect. We will re-open on Tuesday 20th September as usual.

This Sunday sees the last day for use of our wonderful grass tennis courts. Sections 1 and 2 are already out of play as they will be worked on over the weekend. Sections 3 and 4 will be available for play. I know they currently look green and wonderful – but given the summer weather and heavy play, now is the time that Steve and his team need to begin the preparation for our Summer season 2023!

A huge vote of thanks to Steve and Craig and the team at Cromer for their hard work in ensuring our grass courts have been so wonderful this year. THANK YOU!

Our swimming pool will also shut after this Sunday. We know some of you would love to see the season extended. However we have to balance costs and practicality. We all know energy bills have gone up considerably and with cooler nights – the pool loses a lot of heat and would take considerable resources to keep it at a temperature that’s appropriate. We will be reopening in May 2023 for the summer season!

Newsflash!
The Poolside Kitchen will be open for one last time for the summer season THIS WEEKEND with a limited Menu and we will be open from noon until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, there’s a LOT going on at your Club and we hope you’ll get involved.

Roast Sunday Lunch
This Sunday sees the return of our Sunday roast lunches – we’ve sold out, but fear not, the next Sunday lunch is on Sunday 2nd October and booking is open NOW – it’s a fab menu and we hope you’ll book yourselves, friends or family in. As you probably know by now, as a result of your feedback – we have a much more flexible booking system in place to ensure you can eat lunch when it’s convenient to you!

Booking details and the menu are HERE

Thatched Roof Fundraising Evening
We’re building up to this amazing event. Chef has pulled out the stops for a delicious two course dinner. We have a range of auction prizes up for grabs with many of them experiences that are usually unavailable to purchase. Our auction items have sparked considerable interest but there are still bargains available. Please have a look to see if there is anything you fancy for yourself or for a Christmas present or even for friends and family. The deadline for website bidding is Thursday 29th September at midnight – click HERE.

Entertainment has been provided in the form of Casper Clarke and generously donated by one of our Members. And that’s how we have kept the price down to just £35pp for Members and £40 for non-members. We are reaching full capacity for the evening. If you are sat on the fence, don’t get splinters and miss out – BOOK NOW

Meanwhile our fundraising campaign continues. If you can donate, however large or small a donation, we need all of you to help us reach our goal. Our renovation project for the Roof is one of the most important projects for us to complete. We are committed for the works to be done – action now will at least ensure the Club’s physical integrity for the next thirty years. You can get all the details and donate HERE

Our thatched roof fundraising is going very well and thank you to those of you who have donated or bid for our auction items. The work is now scheduled for January, February and March. Our goal is getting closer… We have now raised £62,976 so far which leaves us £27,684. With YOUR help we CAN do it. PLEASE donate, however large or small your donation.

Tennis

This weekend sees the Under 12’s LTA qualifying tournament at the Club. They will be playing all day Saturday and Sunday on four of our hard tennis courts. Please check court availability with the office if you want to play.

Meanwhile, last Sunday’s Club Championships was a lot of fun! Congratulations to all our winners and runners-up! Sunday was another day of spectacular tennis at your Club! We’ve put together a photo gallery – which you can see below:

Of course a competition is only successful with a range of entries. Our thanks must go to Pete and his team for making the arrangements and to all of you who entered and came along to offer your support. A wonderful summer of tennis and we look forward to hosting the Championships again next year!

We are also looking for our next generation of tennis players. You’re never too young to start with tennis! Our ‘tots’ sessions’ are back, starting next week on Wednesday at 9:15am. Sign up NOW as these sessions have been very popular in the past!

The bubble will be going up in the first week of October. Sadly, it was too windy for the date we had booked, so installation had to be rescheduled. Please don’t forget our new booking and payment system is in operation – details are HERE.
