It’s one of the most important days of the year for the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club. Summer Open Day is here this Saturday 17th May! We’ve lined up sunshine, exciting events, great activities, and exclusive Membership offers.
Not a Member yet? Come along and see what the Club can offer you and your family. Already a Member? It’s the perfect day to enjoy the Club at its best—and bring family, friends and neighbours too! You’ll enjoy rewards if they join.

A huge thank you to Ann Towler who has planted up our tubs with a fabulous array of seasonal flowers. And in the Club’s colour scheme too! All ready for Open Day. Thank you Ann!
In other news, another thank you must go to Jon Oakes and his team for cleaning the Club’s windows. They’re now sparkling clean. Thank you!
An update too… Planning Permission has been achieved to keep the bubble up all year round which will lower maintenance costs, reduce wear and tear to the bubble and ensure we have access to covered courts all year round.

FOSLTC | Summer Open Day!
Our Summer Open Day is tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am until 4pm.
We have plenty planned over the day with taster sessions, exhibition matches, swimming, Poolside Kitchen (and our new summer menu), and more! To view the day’s activities please see HERE.
We’ll also have local band ‘After Hours’ performing from 6pm, tickets are only £5.00 each and can be brought HERE. Remember to tell family and friends, help us spread the word!
We also have NEW special offer this year, if you are a current sporting member, and bring along a family member or friend and they sign up on the day as a sporting member, you’ll both receive £30.00 on your swipe card!
And so you can plan ahead, the Poolside Kitchen will be open until 7pm on Saturday.
Poolside Kitchen
Speaking of such things, our Poolside Kitchen opens today (Friday 16th May) from 12pm – 6pm. We’ve got some NEW items on the menu. Smashburgers, NEW chip bags and the return of many favourites including our epic chicken burger (now in single or double format!) and many more delicious dishes, salads and sandwiches. The pool will also be open from Saturday 17th May. As usual children’s swimming slots need to be booked HERE. Adult swimming is available Tuesday – Sunday from 9am.

Colchester & District | Update
It’s been VERY busy this week with matches every day!
Match updates this week:
Monday night saw 2 matches, Mixed A vs David Lloyd A & Ladies C vs The Essex D of which both our Frinton teams won. Congratulations!
Moving on to Tuesday night we also had 2 more home matches with Men’s B vs David Lloyd Club A & Ladies C vs West Mersea B. In Frinton fashion they both won their matches. More congratulations!
As we turned to Wednesday night we had 1 home match with Mens A vs David Lloyd B, and an away match with Mixed C vs Kirby A. Mixed C won against Kirby A 8-1, and Mens A won 9-0 at home.
On Thursday night the games continued with Mixed B vs Lexden Hill A at Frinton and our Men’s D played away at Colchester Officers Club C. Our Mixed B just clinched it winning 5-4 whilst our Men’s D unfortunately lost 9-0.
And Tonight we have our final home game of the week with Mixed D vs Kirby B.
Do pop down to support, and if you fancy a little liquid refreshment, the bar will be open until late!

FOSLTC Club Championships 2025!
The sign-up sheets for our Club championships for this year are up! Closing Date for sign-up is Saturday 17th May. If you’re unable to come down to sign-up please email tennis@fosltc.com
Draws and the rules of entry are up on the board in the main corridor by the pool door.
Aqua Fit Classes
Katy starts her Aqua Fit classes again on Tuesday 20th May. Bookings are live HERE. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday starting at 11.15am. The groups do get busy so make sure you sign-up quickly! They’ll run all summer until the pool closes in September.
Pizza Returns!
Our next date is Friday 23rd May from 6pm onwards. Pre-orders are always advised by texting 07498 744745 as it’s usually a sell-out night!
Bar News
We know drink prices have risen in recent months, but at the Club we’re working hard to keep them down while offering a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Next time you’re out, compare our prices — we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, especially with your 20% Membership discount!
Pimm’s is back for summer. And we even have Hawkstone Lager (from Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm), along with our house lager, Guinness on tap, spirits, wines, fizz and a growing range of low and no-alcohol choices.

So that’s a rather busy few weeks ahead. If you have not played tennis yet on our grass courts or investigated the croquet lawn, they’re playing better than ever.
