Hello!
Scorchio! Summer is back. The weather forecast for the next week is fantastic. The Poolside Kitchen will be open and whether it’s a refreshing non-alcoholic drink, or Pimm’s, fizz, lager or wine o’clock the bar is open too! Do pop down to the Club!
This Friday, we have our juniors tennis and disco event on so if you’ve got kids aged 5 – 12 you can sign up for the event HERE or do feel free to bring them and even their older siblings down to the Club tomorrow evening!
Meanwhile, last Friday the Frinton Summer Music Course held their concert at the Club. Of course we were delighted to welcome my mum, Wendy Max with all her pupils. Once again they were joined by Gareth Malone OBE who, in just four days, managed to coach a choir to sing the songs from Oliver! Including my brother Richard who gave a cameo performance too! A packed house, brilliant concert and we managed to raise over £400 for the Club. Bravo all!

By now hopefully you’ll know that the Thursday Social tennis has become a thing. For all the instructions on how to join in, click HERE it’s open to all standards and you’ll definitely get a good game. Next Thursday, 14th August, to coincide with our tournament (and the good weather) Pizza night is BACK! Chef usually sells out so to pre-order your pizza just text the number of pizzas you want to reserve and order your toppings on the night! 07498 744745
Let’s get to this week’s news!
Elite Men’s Sponsored Tennis Competition.
Thank you to everyone who came down on Saturday to enjoy a fantastic day of tennis!
Congratulations to Freddie Middleton on winning the Cup Final against Kristian Fulcher, and to Tom Challener for winning the Plate Final against Dominic Binns.
A big thank you to our generous sponsors, Clacton Pier and Green Robins, whose support helped make the event such a success. And to David Binns and Tom Philpot for organising this inaugural event.
And of course, the strawberries and cream were a real treat!

We’re into the next round. So please do take note of the play-by dates. Meanwhile I have to report that I got rinsed by the number 2 seed, George Moxon in my restricted singles match.
