Hello!

I hope you survived the New Year. Certainly our event at the Club was super fun. Whilst Chef and his team pulled out the stops to provide a delicious dinner, those of us attending pulled out a range of questionable dance moves. This festive period has been a great learning curve and despite the ongoing pandemic, the Club was open, busy and many of our scheduled events went ahead. Which, given the backdrop of the pandemic, is no mean feat. Congratulations to Glenys for picking up everything and organising a big team and huge array of responsibilities to ensure all the events held at the Club were a major success. To Paul and Liz and the catering team for their wonderful cooking, canapés and service and to Mark, Jonathan and the whole bar and waiting staff who really did a wonderful job. Your Club is in great hands and our team have shown what we are capable of. Now, with your continued help and support, we build!

And in other thanks, the Carols with Caryll was a significant success and our thanks must go to Caryll for hosting once again! And to Giles Watling MP for hosting the event. A super, fun and festive evening!

There’s a lot going on this January. And I hope you’ll find at least something to take your fancy.

FREE body analysis & consultation – by Technogym

Let’s start with Thursday 27th and Friday 28th of January. As you may know, I keep going on about having lost some weight. You may want some inspiration in that department or perhaps just want to get a little more mobile. Whatever your plan, our gym is now one of the best in the area. Not just because we have some amazing kit, but Katy and her team are fantastic instructors and have put together a range of group classes and one-on-one offers to help you get involved. It’s amazing value. And a first class offer. Please do take the time to find out more. And spread the word.

My fellow Board Member, Nick Gough alongside Katy and her team have put together a fantastic event for you at the end of January. All the details are on the website but we will have Technogym bringing some state of the art kit so you can work out your fitness. We really do live in the future! This is YOUR chance to see it in motion and to experience it for yourselves. Please don’t miss out. Combined with that, if you’ve always fancied having your fav bit of Technogym kit at home? We will have special offers and if you’ve wondered about joining the gym or have friends who might be interested… there are offers for 13 months for the price of 12. It’s all happening!

Jazz and Sausages

Back to events closer to now… on Friday 14th January we welcome back the Frinton Jazz Club – The event itself is sold out (but check their website for any returns). If you are attending, we’ll have some special gourmet sausage baps and hand cut chips available all at reasonable prices. The bar will be ready to go! And we’ll also have some available to buy on the night or to save disappointment BOOK IN ADVANCE!

If you simply fancy popping down to the Club and having a drink or even a sausage bap? Why not? Best to book if you do!

Sunday Lunch

On Sunday 16th January – it’s a return of the famous Sunday Lunch. This time, it’s roast pork or roast lamb. As you’ll know by now, these lunches really DO get booked up. BOOK HERE NOW to avoid disappointment!

Other News

And of course, we have a range of other sporting events underway. The Winter Box Tennis League tennis continues. And Pete is busy as ever with his coaching and setting up events for juniors in the holidays. If you’re interested, please go to the NeetAcademy website for details.

Vickie Prowe continues to revitalise the squash offer at the Club. Perhaps you should try out a Club night or simply get involved? And there’s plenty on offer for junior members too. Again all details are on the website.

In addition to the gym event I mentioned above, the classes put on by Katy and the team do get booked up so if that’s you… book early!

In the Clubhouse, the Space Invaders machine is still there (and the other 3000 games it has!), please have a go! Our wonderful table tennis table can be used in the ballroom when it’s not being used for an event. Bats and balls are available behind the bar.

We have a refreshed drinks menu (all printed up too) so why not take a look again and get down to the Club to give our new selections a try.

That’s it for now. We have a range of plans which we are putting in place at the moment for events, sporting competitions and social activities. Keep posted and involved and, if there’s something missing or you need assistance, please do get in touch directly or via the office!

Have a great week
