Hello! The good and unseasonably warm weather was lovely whilst it lasted. However, Autumn is well and truly here now. We hope the bubble will be going up soon – but there’s a lot of activities going on at the Club to keep you entertained. And at least we had a very busy late summer weekend at the club playing croquet, tennis, drinking and lunching!

Here’s this week’s news.

AGM – Friday 20th October

Once again we will be gathering for our Club’s AGM on Friday 20th October. It’s 6pm for a 6.30pm prompt start. We’ll then have a selection of presentations and Q&A with canapés being served afterwards. Drinks will be available at the bar. We really hope you’ll join us for the evening. And if you wish to stand for the one place available on the Board, please do put your name on the notice board and let Kim know. We will be providing an abridged copy of the accounts on the evening but if you’d like to see the full set, Kim can let you have a copy on request.

Women’s Croquet Weekend

Our first ever Woman’s croquet weekend was a great success! Not one, but three national champions came from across the country joined us to support the event at the weekend & provide advice, a Q&A and a demonstration match on Sunday; followed by lunch in the clubhouse with a medals presentation.

There were 10 ladies competing in all, making 5 pairs, & the winning partnership was Samantha Flaherty & Margaret Kenny with an outstanding victory.

Everyone had a great time, the sun was shining and the lawn looked spectacular. If you’re interested in taking part or having a go at croquet, our players would love to welcome you along to join in.

New Vacancy

Are you or do you know someone who would like to help the club with hospitality and membership matters? Sadly we are saying goodbye to Karen shortly as she takes up an exciting new post at a local nursery. We’ll be very sad to see Karen leave but don’t worry she’ll be back for many of our events as and when she can. Meanwhile we owe a huge debt of thanks to Karen for all her hard work at the Club and wish her very well in her new job. Thank you!

We have evolved the role and what we’re looking for, please click HERE should you or anyone you know be interested in becoming our new Hospitality and Membership Coordinator.

Flowers

You may have noticed that once again our flower boxes are in bloom for the autumn season. Once again a huge thanks to Ann Towler for planting them up and making them look so fabulous!

Jazz Club | Sunday 15th October

The Frinton Jazz Club returns once again to our Club on Sunday 15th October. This time around it’s the acclaimed musician Paul Higgs who guides us through the amazing works of Miles Davis. There are a few tickets available so why not get on down to the Club for a sensational afternoon of jazz! It starts at 1.30pm and tickets are available here  https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/frinton-jazz-club
