Hello!

Tomorrow, 18th May sees our annual Club Open Day. It runs from 11am until 4pm and we’re hoping for some decent weather. I’ve put in a bid and I’m told it may be a bit cloudy but there’s a chance of a little sunshine too! Fingers are well and truly crossed! We have a so many sporting exciting activities lined up, including free fitness classes, a junior squash tournament, tennis for adults, croquet and complimentary swimming in our heated pool. Regardless of the weather there will be plenty to see and do! And special Open Day offers on Membership too.

Visitors to our Club on the day will have the chance to win one of three summer guest passes. If you’re already a member, if you win, you can gift these to your family and friends.

Please do pop down and see us to see what’s on offer. Spread the word. Bring family, friends, neighbours, colleagues – everyone! You’re ALL welcome! Weather permitting, should you wish to test your competitive spirit and try out our lush green grass tennis courts, please join in the fun and sign up for our Open Day Tennis Tournament, it’s free to enter and everyone of a reasonable standard is welcome to play. Sign up online HERE or use our sign-up sheet in the foyer. If you are planning to play, please make sure you wear shoes suitable for grass tennis court play.

We are excited to announce that our new Club branded sportswear will be available for purchase, specially designed to celebrate our 125th anniversary. We hope you’ll like it as much as we do. The collection will be on sale at David’s Shop this weekend.

We hope you’ll agree that the Club is looking fabulous at the moment. We’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare the courts, power wash the terrace, paint where we can and generally spruce the place up! Huge thanks to all our team for their hard work. And a big thank you too to Ann Towler for her sterling work to make our planters look fabulous with an array of colourful blooms. And in Club colours too!

Swimming Pool – Open!

Exciting news! Our heated swimming pool is now open for the summer season. Children under 15 may use the pool only when a lifeguard is present, and swimming slots must be booked using the link HERE – the timetable is also available on that page. Adults are welcome to swim any time from 9 am until the evening other than slots reserved for children’s swimming and aquafit classes. We’ll be putting the schedule on the website so you can plan your visit. The cost to swim is £8 per slot for non-members, while members in all categories can swim at no charge.

Poolside Kitchen – Open!

Our Poolside Kitchen is now open. Offering our members and visitors the chance to enjoy a delicious lunch or snack. Non-members are also welcome, so please remember to spread the word. The opening hours for the upcoming weekend are as follows:

18 May Saturday 12 to 6pm
19 May Sunday 12 to 5pm

Celebratory Dinner and Dance | Saturday 13th July

To celebrate our Club’s 125th anniversary, we’re organising a very special event. Please join us for a celebratory dinner & dance at the Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday, 13th July 2024. Ticket prices are £75 for members and £85 for non-members. The evening will include a Champagne Reception, a Three-Course dinner, a Live Band, a Photo Booth, a Souvenir Booklet, and an Auction & Raffle. Triangle Tournament

After the success of recent years, this wonderful tournament to celebrate the fantastic sporting facilities we have available in our town is back! It brings Frinton’s Golf, Cricket and Tennis Clubs together for an annual competition. And we’d like you to get involved. To play and to support! Entries for the Triangle Tournament are still open. Golfers, cricketers, tennis, and croquet enthusiasts are welcome to sign up. The tennis and croquet events will be held on Sunday June 23rd, cricket on Sunday July 7th, and golf on Sunday July 21st. Tennis Xpress

Discover a new skill during your lunch break. Our upcoming Tennis Xpress course begins on Tuesday, 4th June. Instructed by LTA Level 4 Accredited Coach Pete Richmond, this course will equip you with the essentials to serve, rally, and score, providing you with the skills needed to play tennis on a regular basis. Next week and every Thursday sees our Club open its doors to a range of sporting fun and activities. Alongside a range of bar and other sports, there’s special offers on drinks and pizza too!

Well done to our Mixed A team who managed to secure a 9:0 win against Lexden Racquets and congratulations to our Men’s C team on their victory over Dedham B last night. We were fortunate that the rain stayed away, allowing us to watch another round of quality tennis!
