Hello!

I can only apologise for the weather. Whilst the rest of Europe swelters in unprecedented heat… here it’s summer as usual! A delightful selection of wind, rain, more wind and maybe some more rain. And a few bright sunny spells in between. The longer range forecast into August looks a little better – we can only hope. And in-between dodge the periods of bad weather to take advantage of our outdoor sporting facilities when we can! That said, there’s always something going on at our Club come rain or shine!

Here’s this week’s news;

Triangle Tournament | Sunday 23rd July
Weather permitting, our Tennis and Croquet teams will be competing against Frinton Golf Club and Frinton Cricket Club this Sunday at our home ground. The Tennis Club were victorious in the first challenge at the Golf Club and we hope to continue our successful run. Please do come along to support your teams and watch some entertaining matches and competition. Matches start at 2pm and our bar will be open longer (until 8pm) and we’ll be serving food too (6:30pm)! The event is sponsored by SPL, Stabilised Pavements Limited, and they have generously supported prizes for the winning teams too.

Charity Gym Marathon | Friday 28th until Saturday 29th July
Calling all gym goers and fitness enthusiasts. Let’s get together and support this great event and cause! The Gym members of Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club will be taking part in a 26.2 hour Gym Marathon…. You don’t have to do all of the challenge! Should you wish, you can attend a Yoga class instead. Join Natty on the 28th of July at 7.00am for 108 Sun Salutations as part of our 26 hour fundraiser. LTA Summer County Cup Event | Monday 24th – Friday 28th July
We will be hosting another exciting tennis tournament next week. There’s always a high standard of competition and match play. Why not pop down to the Club, show your support, perhaps enjoy a light lunch or cheeky tipple whilst watching some amazing tennis matches being played? We’ll be hosting players from a range of counties across the UK including Buckinghamshire, Derbyshire, West of Scotland, Norfolk, Berkshire and Warwickshire. Yes, the weather forecast looks a little suspect but we hope that play will be uninterrupted.

During the week, courts may be in short supply. To avoid disappointment, please book your courts ahead online or check availability with Kim to ensure you can get on court too.

Quiz Night | Monday 31st July
The Club is hosting a Quiz Night, organised by Frinton Mission. Everyone is welcome! Test your knowledge with your friends and family …. and it’s only £2 per person! Even if the weather is a bit miserable, why not cheer yourself up with a bit of quizzing indoors! Details are HERE.

Music Night! Sunday 13th August
Don’t Freak Out are coming BACK to our Club. This band is amazing live and supported once again by Clive Brill and The Jazz Slayers. They’ll play a range of music that you’ll know, love and want to get up and dance to! Every time they’ve been to the Club the event has sold out – so please don’t miss out. It’ll be a superb evening – tickets are available HERE.

Summer Sporting Camps
Still looking for things for your children to do this summer? How about our Sporting Summer Camps?
We are offering Tennis and Squash camps run by our professional and friendly coaching teams. Our half-day sessions can be booked individually, depending on what day suits you. Please click HERE for more info!

How about taking part in our sports camp in the morning and then swimming in the afternoon? Kids do love our heated pool! Perhaps with a spot of lunch from the Poolside Kitchen in-between? That’s a fun day for your children, sorted! Please book your swimming slot HERE.

Guest passes
We often are asked if we welcome visitors and holiday makers? Yes, of course we do! With our temporary membership offers, you can the use the swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts and croquet too. We offer daily, weekly and monthly guest passes for anyone interested, to enjoy our Club this summer!
We are a very friendly and welcoming Club, with a long tradition. And with our Poolside Kitchen, Bar and a whole host of activities available – there’s something for everyone. Whatever the weather!
