December arrived and got underway rather sooner than I expected. Suddenly we’re actually allowed to go full Christmas! And we hope you’ll want to join in on some of the fabulous events which are being held at your Club. Alongside all your usual fitness, tennis, squash, walking football and croquet activities too. Is there even enough time in the day? Here’s what’s going on and all the information you need.

Christmas Progressive | Internal Tennis Tournament | Saturday 9th December!

We regret to inform you that this event has been cancelled. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused you. 

Club Christmas Raffle

We’re raising money for our Club with a fabulous festive raffle with some super prizes! All prizes have been donated by Members and local businesses with a top prize of £100 (woo!) and a wide array of tasty alcoholic drinks, cash and other super things! We’re accepting donations for prizes too. If there’s something you’d like to see raffled off… please take it down to the Club and give to Mark to put into the prize bin! Raffle tickets are £5 a strip and 6 strips for £25. Cash only please! We’ll be making the draw at the Carols with Caryll which are taking place at the Club on Saturday 23rd December from 6pm (but don’t worry if you can’t be there in person as we’ll ensure all prize winners are notified!). And please don’t forget to email Georgia@fosltc.com to let her know if you’re planning to come along to the Carols. There are FREE canapés and we need to cater for you! 

Please buy your raffle tickets at the bar or from the office. We hope to raise some useful funds for your Club!

Choir Concert | Saturday 9th December 12 noon – 1pm

The Jupiter Singers have been a wonderful and tuneful addition to our Saturday mornings throughout the year as they rehearse regularly at our Club. And now it’s time to see and hear their hard work in action! Why not pop to the Jupiter Singers’ Christmas lunchtime concert on Saturday 9th December, 12 noon – 1pm at The Frinton Free Church. Tickets will be available on the door – £10 for adults and £5 for Under 16’s. 

Christmas Parties 

The Club is looking amazing! The trees and decorations are up and we’re very excited about the first Christmas parties taking place at the Club this weekend! Our thanks again to The King of Soho Gin for their generous sponsorship of our lovely trees.

The Festive Season is well and truly here. If you’ve not booked for one of our parties, there’s still time with limited availability for our events next weekend. Don’t let the festive season pass you by without joining us for a delicious dinner, drinks and dancing!

Booking cut-off points are: For the events on Friday 15th & Saturday 16th Dec the cut off date for bookings is Sunday 10th December.

Family Christmas Disco | Thursday 21st December 2 – 4pm

Our family festive disco has become quite the event for our junior members! We’ll be playing some funky music and it’ll be a fun event for all! We’ll have lots of fun with Santa making an appearance and a kiddy buffet will be available too. Please come along and have some fun with your little ones and bring their friends too! Juniors always love this event…. and the grown-ups too! It’s mainly aimed at primary school aged children and tickets are £10 for Members and £12.50 for non-members with (responsible!) adults who can attend free! New Junior 11 and under, Club Sessions | from 13th January 

On Saturday the 13th January we will be starting a weekly Club Session for all junior members aged 11 and under. The session will by run by NEETacademy who we hope most of you know and is part of the initiative sponsored and supported by Clacton Pier. The session will last from 2-3pm and is completely free so we hope to see as many of you at the Club as possible. Your child will love this opportunity to meet and make new friends, play tennis and have lots of fun.

As ever there are plenty of classes, sports to play and activities underway at the Club. You’ll find all the details on our website. As always, please book your courts and classes!
