Hello!

Back from holiday and refreshed having played tennis every day… and here we are with another newsletter. There’s a lot of news to update you on and all sorts of things going on at the Club. Here’s the latest!

Sunday Lunch
Chef makes his return next weekend! On Sunday 3rd October we’ll have our first Sunday Lunch at the Club in quite a while. As you probably remember, Paul has been off whilst he fought a cancer diagnosis. We’re delighted that he’s been given a clean bill of health by his doctors and he’s now clear of cancer and making a great recovery. We’d love to make sure his return is greeted by a full dining room! It’s online now and a wonderful menu has been put together to tempt you back in! We have two sittings. The first at noon and the second at 2.30pm. You can book online NOW!

Christmas Parties
Post pandemic, how better to celebrate the return of our ability to party by having our Christmas dinner and dancing events return to the Club! Chef is pulling out ALL the stops to make sure it’s a delicious dinner and a fun event. All the dates, menus and prices are on the website so why not book for you, your family and friends or bring down a corporate party too? They’ll be great fun events.

New Year’s Eve
Good riddance to 2021 and HELLO 2022! Yes, we have a New Year’s Eve dinner and party planned at the Club. And yes. You guessed it… Book now (online) to avoid disappointment!

Tennis
The bubble is back, the lights are fully in operation and it’s all ready to book. So if you want to play indoors or out? It’s the hard courts until next summer… And with that in mind, it’s time to say a huge thank you to head groundsman Steve and to Jake for all their hard work to make sure our grass courts were open, playing wonderfully and looked after so magnificently. Now they’ll be tended to by the team from Cromer and repaired so we can get ready for 2022.

In other tennis news, the Ladies’ tennis players had an end of season ‘play and party’ night on Thursday. Great tennis on a lovely calm evening and a pot luck supper in the bar! If you’d like to be part of this going forward? You’d be welcome and please get in touch with Victoria Kunzer or via the office.

Pete continues to coach one on one and group sessions for adults and children… and if you’d like to book lessons or a coaching session, please do get in touch either directly, via the website or the office.

Squash
Vickie Prow and the team are ramping up our sports activities on the squash courts. We have coaching available one-on-one but also a whole range of activities for youngsters too. Don’t miss out and see online as to what’s on offer.

Meanwhile…Squash ‘club night’ is getting busier. With the revamp of the squash programme, attracting over 10 existing members and some new faces it’s a great fun evening. If you’re interested in getting involved? Please join us. More details from Jack, Gavin or from the office.

Gym
As the nights draw in, don’t allow yourself to get fat… get fit! We have a range of classes available and options for you to book group or individual classes or personal training sessions. Or just why not get into the gym? Katy and her tram are unhand to help.

Croquet
As you’ll notice the lawn has had some work done to it and is out of action for a few weeks whilst the grass seed takes hold. We’ll be back soon!

Bar
Of course we have a wide array of tasty drinks and snacks for you. AND we now have Guinness ON TAP! Splendid as Autumn begins to set in.

Events
The Frinton Literary Festival is taking place at the end of October. Don’t forget to take a look at what’s going on on their website or at Caxton Books and to book your tickets for some wonderful authors and guest speakers. It’s an inspiring schedule and we hope you’ll enjoy.

AGM
Our AGM is taking place on Friday 15th October at 7pm at the Club. Now the nominations are in, we’ll set out how we plan to run the process next week. Meanwhile do keep your diaries free as we put the plans together.

It will be our chance to update you not only on what we have done over the past three years but to look forward. Of course there are plenty of challenges that lie ahead and this is our chance to set out what we have in mind and your opportunity to ask questions and to have your say.

That’s it for this week. Enjoy the brief spell of sunshine before the rain sets back in!
