We are pleased to report encouraging progress on our padel court application. The Environmental Protection team at the Council has confirmed that they have no objection to the proposal and we are now waiting for the planning team’s decision.
Behind the scenes, we are working diligently to design a fair and sustainable financing model for the development, should final approval be granted. We expect to share further details with members in the coming days.
Congratulations to Dedham, who delivered a convincing win over Lexden Hill in the Winter League. A strong performance all round with plenty of bonus points.
Our internal tennis leagues continue to produce competitive and entertaining tennis, with several close results and the occasional surprise. Players are encouraged to arrange and complete their matches promptly so that the next rounds can progress without delay.
A special thank you to Graham, who has been doing a sterling job following the recent gas emergency. His efforts have ensured that the Club remains warm and energy‑efficient, keeping costs under control while maintaining comfort for members.

This week we rolled out our NEW breakfast menu and it’s been a hit!! Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed their toast, croissant or pain au chocolat. We now also have Sausage rolls, only £1.50 each! The Racket Sport Services Sale is still on! Prices on Tennis Rackets from Volkl, Solinco, and Tecnifibre have been lowered even further! Also at lower prices are Selkirk Pickleball Padels, and balls!
Darts social evening
On Friday 13th February the Tennis Committee is hosting its second social evening. Come and trade your racquets for arrows for some friendly competition in the bar. Starting from 8pm, it’s free to enter and everyone is welcome to join in. Sign-up can be completed online HERE
Racketlon Tournament
It’s less than a month now until our Racketlon Tournament! Join us on Sunday 1st March from 10.15am for our Racketlon tournament. Play across all Tennis, Squash & Table tennis to find out who our champions will be! The Winner & Runner-up will both receive vouchers for Racket Sports Services at the club!

Rugby Union is back! The 6 nations kicked off last night and tomorrow afternoon at 4.40pm England take on Wales at Twickenham.
Prior to the rugby at 12.30pm, Man United take on Spurs in the Premier League.
When the rugby or football isn’t being shown, we will be showing live coverage of the winter Olympics over the next 2 weeks.
